A new and action-packed trailer for SICARIO: DAY OF THE SALDADO has hit the internet fast and hard, this afternoon, treating fans of the 2015 cocaine cartel original film to more outrageous carnage in the name of waging war against the world. In the sequel, FBI agent Matt Graver (Josh Brolin) calls on mysterious operative Alejandro Gillick (Benecio Del Toro) when Mexican drug cartels start to smuggle terrorists across the U.S. border. The war escalates even further when Alejandro kidnaps a top kingpin's daughter to deliberately increase the tensions. When the young girl is seen as collateral damage, the two men will determine her fate as they question everything that they are fighting for.
The trailer features a series of high-octane car chases, accompanied by relentless gunfire, drones, and enough increases to thugs insurance rates to give the mascot from Geico a tiny heart attack.
Recently, while speaking with Collider, Brolin told the entertainment outlet that he thinks the sequel is "more severe, man. All the way around," the DEADPOOL 2 actor said. "I think the characters are more severe. I think the movie is more severe. I think it’s just much bigger. It’s just a bigger scope film."
We'll know for sure if the Stefano Sollima-directed film lives up to Brolin's hype when it explodes onto theater screens come June 29th. Let us know what you think of the new trailer in the comments section below.
