If X-MEN 3 and WOLVERINE just didn’t have enough extra mutant characters for you, then you’re just gonna love X-MEN: FIRST CLASS — at this point it would almost be easier to list who’s not in it.
But what the hell, now “Mad Men” woman January Jones is in the thing, apparently playing telepath Emma Frost (aka the White Queen). This was a role previously linked to curvaceous Alice Eve (SHE’S OUT OF MY LEAGUE), who was seemingly mutated right off the project. But director Matthew Vaughn is also obviously jettisoning the character as she was established in WOLVERINE (see below), so whatever.
Zoe Kravitz (the fine product of Lenny Kravitz and Lisa Bonet) is also now among the lengthy list of mutant students, playing Angel. This is obviously the movie variation of Grant Morrison’s buglike character rather than the traditional handsome flyer Warren Worthington III. (Original comic team members Cyclops and Jean Grey are also nowhere to be found, as yet.)
Also newly added to the Fox movie are Bill Milner as a young Magneto and Morgan Lily as young Mystique. The cast already includes Michael Fassbender (Magneto), James McAvoy (Xavier), Nicholas Hoult (Beast), Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), Caleb Landry Jones (Banshee), Lucas Till (Havok), Edi Gathegi (Darwin), Jason Flemyng (Azazel), Rose Byrne (Moira McTaggert), Oliver Platt (Man in Black) and Kevin Bacon (undisclosed villain).
They will likely soon be joined by Dexter Fletcher, Rade Serbedzija, Robert Davi, Emily Mortimer, Al Leong, Denis Leary, Holly Hunter, Googy Gress, Thomas Kretschmann, Bob Gunton, Michael Sheen, Clint Howard, Ethan Suplee, MC Gainey, your weird cousin Ned, and a billboard of Claudia Schiffer. Because why not.
