The Wrath of Becky trailer: Mess with someone’s dog and face the bloody consequences

Quiver Distribution drops the blood-soaked red-band trailer for The Wrath of Becky, which proves that you never mess with someone’s dog.

You just don’t mess with someone’s dog. If John Wick has taught us anything, it’s that. Quiver Distribution has dropped a gruesome red-band trailer for The Wrath of Becky, which follows the title character as she attempts to rescue her beloved dog, Diego, after he’s taken by a fascist organization. Check out the Wrath of Becky trailer above!

The first movie must have slipped completely under my radar, as I had no idea that Wrath of Becky was a sequel to anything. I should probably make an effort to check out that first film because Wrath of Becky looks like an absolute blast. You really can’t go wrong with blood-soaked revenge. Here’s the official synopsis: “Two years after she escaped a violent attack on her family, Becky attempts to rebuild her life in the care of an older woman – a kindred spirit named Elena. But when a group known as the ‘Noble Men’ break into their home, attack them, and take her beloved dog, Diego, Becky must return to her old ways to protect herself and her loved ones.

Wrath of Becky stars Lulu Wilson as Becky, with Seann William Scott, Denise Burse, Jill Larson, Courtney Gains, Michael Sirow, Aaron Dalla Villa, Matt Angel, and Kate Siegel filling out the rest of the cast. The sequel was directed by Matt Angel and Suzanne Coote, with Angel also penning the screenplay. You can check out a review of the first movie from our own Lance Vlcek right here.

In a statement, Matt Angel and Suzanna Coote said, “All great sequels build upon what made their predecessors successful: they evolve; they take the time to establish the new intricacies of a familiar character; they build upon the original audience’s desires, while simultaneously bringing new fans into the fold. We set out to make The Wrath of Becky that sequel.” Angel and Coote continued: “From the first frame, we wanted to subvert the expectations of anyone who has seen the first film — to elevate what we saw as a franchise-worthy character to the next level. We wanted to make Becky a symbolic force — a vigilante — hellbent on destroying some of the darkness we see in the headlines today. And, most importantly, we wanted The Wrath of Becky to continue our heroine’s quest for justice. This is a girl who will fight for what she loves most, by any means necessary, no matter the cost — and she may even enjoy herself in the process.
