Vestron Video has announced that the next Blu-ray release in the Vestron Video Collectors Series is one of my all-time favorites, the 1986 sci-fi action classic The Wraith! The street date is July 20th, and you can pre-order a copy at THIS LINK.
Written and directed by Mike Marvin, The Wraith has the following synopsis:
A high-school hero returns from the dead to take revenge against the psychotic drag racer who killed him. The murdered boy transforms himself into a hi-tech spirit in black leathers and sets out to do battle with a gang of desert-based car thieves led by the man who destroyed him.
The film stars Charlie Sheen, Nick Cassavetes, Sherilyn Fenn, Randy Quaid, Matthew Barry, Clint Howard, Griffin O'Neal, and Chris Nash, with an appearance by Elizabeth Cox of the 1989 slasher Intruder, plus David Sherrill and Jamie Bozian as the unforgettable duo of Skank and Gutterboy.
The Wraith also has a soundtrack so cool that they promoted it on the poster – which you can see on the Blu-ray cover art below.
Vestron has assembled the following special features for the Blu-ray release:
– Audio Commentary with Writer-Director Mike Marvin
– Audio Commentary with Actors Dave Sherrill and Jamie Bozian
