The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep anime movie announced with original Geralt voice actor

Before Henry Cavill brought Geralt of Rivia to life in Netflix’s The Witcher, when fans thought of the monster slayer, they heard the gruff tones of Doug Cockle in their head. Cockle voiced Geralt in the Witcher video games, and Netflix announced that he will return to the role in a new anime movie titled The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep and you can check out a teaser above!

The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep will be an adaptation of Andrzej Sapkowski’s short story A Little Sacrifice and will be released on Netflix in late 2024. The anime movie will follow Geralt as he’s hired to investigate a series of attacks in a seaside village, where he finds himself drawn into a centuries-old conflict between humans and merpeople that threatens to erupt into all-out war. In addition to Doug Cockle, Sirens of the Deep also stars Anya Chalotra as Yennefer, Joey Batey as Jaskier, and Christina Wren as Essi Daven. The film was directed by Kang Hei Chul and written by Mike Ostrowski and Rae Benjamin.

I am super excited to announce my return to the world of the Witcher voicing Geralt of Rivia once again, but this time in the upcoming animated feature The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep,” Cockle said in a statement. “It’s been an honor to work with Studio Mir and Netflix on this new animated film, and I’m thrilled to be able to share this next chapter of the White Wolf’s journey with fans of the Witcher universe. The third season of The Witcher was the last we will see of Henry Cavill as Geralt. The upcoming fourth season will find Liam Hemsworth taking on the role. “My journey as Geralt of Rivia has been filled with both monsters and adventures, and alas, I will be laying down my medallion and my swords for Season 4,” Cavill said in a statement announcing his departure. “In my stead, the fantastic Mr. Liam Hemsworth will be taking up the mantle of the White Wolf. As with the greatest of literary characters, I pass the torch with reverence for the time spent embodying Geralt and enthusiasm to see Liam’s take on this most fascinating and nuanced of men. Liam, good sir, this character has such a wonderful depth to him, enjoy diving in and seeing what you can find.
