The three most prominent characters in the Netflix series The Witcher are Geralt of Rivia (played by Henry Cavill), Princess Cirilla (played by Freya Allan), and Yennefer of Vengerberg (played by Anya Chalotra). The second season of the series is currently filming, and on Monday we got the first look at images of Geralt from the new season. Yesterday, images gave us the first look at Ciri as she'll appear in season 2. So it's only fitting that today brings us the first season 2 images of Yennefer.
Inspired by a series of novels written by Andrzej Sapkowski, The Witcher is an
epic tale of fate and family — the story of the intertwined destinies of three individuals in the vast world of The Continent, where humans, elves, witchers, gnomes, and monsters battle to survive and thrive, and where good and evil is not easily identified.
Here's the synopsis for season 2:
Convinced Yennefer’s life was lost at the Battle of Sodden, Geralt of Rivia brings Princess Cirilla to the safest place he knows, his childhood home of Kaer Morhen. While the Continent’s kings, elves, humans and demons strive for supremacy outside its walls, he must protect the girl from something far more dangerous: the mysterious power she possesses inside.
As you can see in the images below, Geralt is mistaken about Yennefer's life being lost, but she doesn't appear to be in a very good situation when we catch up to her.
She used her full might,
and the battlefield burned.
Then she vanished from sight,
But Yen will return. pic.twitter.com/1sdWujA6KS— The Witcher (@witchernetflix) October 7, 2020
