If you’re tired of capturing Pokemon and are in the mood to hunt down some monsters instead, well, a new location-based augmented-reality RPG based on The Witcher franchise is on the way! The Witcher: Monster Slayer has been developed by Spokko, part of the CD Projekt Red family, and will allow you to become a monster slayer, track down your prey, and take them down with your sword in augmented reality.

In addition to tracking and hunting a variety of monsters, The Witcher: Monster Slayer will also allow you to experience “story-driven quests that propel you through epic adventures inspired by the Witcher series, taking you deep into the heart of what it means to be an elite monster slayer.” You’ll also prepare for combat by using the time of day, weather conditions, and by using your Witcher knowledge to gain an advantage, so be sure to brew those potions and oils, craft bombs, and select the appropriate equipment for the battle! There’s no official launch date for The Witcher: Monster Slayer just yet, but that will be revealed later this year.

Speaking of The Witcher, the second season of the Netflix series starring Henry Cavill is now back in production following a shutdown due to COVID-19. The eight-episode second season is expected to hit the streaming service next year.
