The Wishmaster Collection is coming out on Vestron Blu-ray

The Vestron Video branch of Lionsgate home entertainment has only been around for a short time, but in its few months of existence they have already brought several great horror titles from yesteryear to Blu-ray: CHOPPING MALL, BLOOD DINER, WAXWORK and WAXWORK II: LOST IN TIME, RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD 3, C.H.U.D. II: BUD THE CHUD. Their releases of LAIR OF THE WHITE WORM and PARENTS will be hitting store shelves in just a few days, and next month they'll be releasing a Blu-ray edition of a childhood favorite of mine, THE GATE.

Details are now available on Vestron's March release and it's their biggest release yet, as they will be bringing all four films in the WISHMASTER franchise to Blu-ray in one fell swoop.

Your wish has come true with the Vestron Video Collector’s Series upcoming release of the Wishmaster Collection, a must-have for cult classic collectors, available for the first time on limited-edition Blu-ray™ on March 28 from Lionsgate. In the Wishmaster series, an evil djinn grants three wishes to the person who releases him, fulfilling a prophecy that will unleash his fellow djinn upon the earth. With brand-new illustration from renowned artist Thomas Hodge, the three-disc Wishmaster Collection limited-edition Blu-ray™ includes all four films, restored and remastered, plus never-before-seen special features, and will be available for the suggested retail price of $49.99.

WISHMASTER COLLECTION OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS

Magically powerful and supernaturally evil, the ancient entity known as the Djinn can grant your wildest dreams — and unleash your darkest nightmares. Follow the Wishmaster’s bloodcurdling quest to devour souls and plunge the world into eternal damnation in this fright-filled collection of all four horror-fantasy favorites.

The WISHMASTER films have their ups and downs (and those downs drop quite low), but overall I find it to be an entertaining franchise. The concept is fun, and the first one, which was executive produced by Wes Craven, is made even more enjoyable by the fact that it has a lot of horror icons and familiar faces packed into its cast: Andrew Divoff, Robert Englund, Kane Hodder, Tony Todd, Reggie Bannister, George "Buck" Flower, Ted Raimi, Joe Pilato, the voice of Angus Scrimm, etc.

Even the least popular installments in the series get some care and attention in this collection. The special features include:
