The trailer for season 2 of the award-winning HBO series from Mike White has just premiered. The second season takes place in a Sicilian resort and “follows the exploits of various guests and employees over the span of a week.” Mike White, the creator, writer and director of the show returns and also produces the series alongside David Bernad and Mark Kamine.
The first season was set in Hawaii and featured a different ensemble of actors including Steve Zahn, Connie Britton, Alexandra Daddario and Euphoria‘s Sydney Sweeny. The first installment also garnered 20 Emmy nominations, 10 of which the show had won, including Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series, the most wins of any program for the year. Season 2 sports a new ensemble including F. Murray Abraham, Jennifer Coolidge, Adam DiMarco, Beatrice Grannò, Meghann Fahy, Jon Gries, Tom Hollander, Sabrina Impacciatore, Michael Imperioli, Theo James, Aubrey Plaza, Haley Lu Richardson, Will Sharpe, Simona Tabasco, and Leo Woodall.
“F. Murray Abraham plays Bert Di Grasso and is visiting Sicily with his son, Dominic (Michael Imperioli), and grandson, Albie (Adam DiMarco). Bert is getting frail, yet still sees himself as virile and capable. Albie Di Grasso, Dominic’s son and Bert’s grandson, Albie is a sweet and observant college grad who often serves as his family’s peacekeeper. Dominic is a Hollywood producer visiting Sicily to explore their ancestral roots. Aubrey Plaza plays Harper Spiller, a newly wealthy after her husband finds professional success. Harper and Ethan (Will Sharpe) are visiting Italy with Ethan’s college roommate, Cameron (Theo James), and Cameron’s wife, Daphne (Meghann Fahy). And Jennifer Coolidge portrays Tanya McQuoid-Hunt, a wealthy, unstable woman, traveling with her husband, Greg (Jon Gries), and assistant, Portia (Haley Lu Richardson).”
The new season will feature seven episodes debuting on SUNDAY, OCTOBER 30 (9:00-10:00pm ET/PT) on HBO and will be available to stream on HBO Max.
