The Walking Dead’s Lennie James joins the cast of Blade Runner 2

Lennie James Blade Runner 2 Harrison Ford

The idea of a sequel to Ridley Scott's BLADE RUNNER should sound like a terrible idea, it really should, but damn if I'm not growing more and more excited about the project with each passing day. Taking place decades after the first film, the UNTITLED BLADE RUNNER SEQUEL will bring Harrison Ford back as Rick Deckard and pair him up with Ryan Gosling. Details on the plot are close to non-existent at this time, but the sequel continues to gather up one heck of a cast.

The latest actor to join up with the UNTITLED BLADE RUNNER SEQUEL is The Walking Dead's Lennie James, although much like everyone else involved in the sequel, details about his character are being kept under wraps. James can count himself among some pretty stellar company as the film also stars Robin Wright, Dave Bautista, Barkhad Abdi, Ana de Armas, David Dastmalchian and others. Production kicked off earlier this month with Denis Villeneuve (SICARIO) directing and the great Roger Deakins (SKYFALL) serving as cinematographer. Fingers crossed that this will be that rare sequel which not only lives up to its predecessor but adds an entirely new dimension to the story.

The BLADE RUNNER sequel is set for a October 6, 2017 release.
