The Walking Dead season 10 bonus episodes promoted with images and artwork

Six bonus episodes of The Walking Dead season 10 will begin airing on AMC on Sunday, February 28th – but if you subscribe to the AMC+ streaming service, you'll be able to watch the episodes before they reach television. The first of the bonus episodes will be available to view on AMC+ as of February 21st, and subsequent episodes will reach AMC+ on Thursdays, three days before their Sunday airings on AMC.

To promote these bonus episodes, AMC has released a batch of images from them, along with some official key art. In addition to characters we're familiar with, these images offer new looks at Jeffrey Dean Morgan's wife Hilarie Burton Morgan as his character Negan's wife Lucille, and Okea Eme-Akwari as Elijah, the mysterious masked man who hangs out with Maggie (Lauren Cohan).

Last on The Walking Dead, we witnessed the fall of Alpha (Samantha Morton) and the end of the Whisperers War. The Kingdom had fallen, Hilltop was virtually destroyed and Alexandria abandoned to prepare for final battle. Our survivors were trapped and separated from one another. Yet, when faced with almost certain death, they rallied together to fight, killing Beta (Ryan Hurst) and eliminating the threat of the horde.

In these six new episodes, we find our survivors trying to pick themselves up by their bootstraps following the destruction the Whisperers left in their wake. The years of struggle weigh upon them as past traumas surface, exposing their more vulnerable sides. As they question the state of humanity, the state of their collective community, and the states of their minds, will they find the inner strength to persevere with their lives, friendships, and group intact?

The Walking Dead is based on the comic book series written by Robert Kirkman and published by Image Comics. The show is produced by AMC Studios and executive produced by Kirkman, Chief Content Officer Scott M. Gimple, Showrunner Angela Kang, Gale Anne Hurd, Dave Alpert, Greg Nicotero, Joseph Incaprera, and Denise Huth.

After these bonus episodes air, there will only be one more season of The Walking Dead, which will consist of 24 episodes. The flagship show is coming to an end, but the universe – which already includes Fear the Walking Dead and the two-season series The Walking Dead: World Beyond – will continue to expand with feature films led by Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln), an anthology series called Tales of the Walking Dead, and a spin-off that will follow the further adventures of Carol (Melissa McBride) and Daryl (Norman Reedus).
