AMC’s fifth season of “The Walking Dead” made its anticipated return last night with one hell of an episode that drew a series high with 17.3 millions viewers, trumping last season’s record of 16.1 million viewers. Go ahead and let that sink in for a bit. 17.3 million viewers. Whether you call yourself a fan of the show or not, you’ve got to be pumped to see horror thriving the way it is on the small screen. Based on the comic book series written by Robert Kirkman and published by Image Comics, “The Walking Dead” tells the story of the months and years that follow after a zombie apocalypse and follows a group of survivors, led by police officer Rick Grimes, who travel in search of a safe and secure home.
It stars Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reedus, Steven Yeun, Lauren Cohan, Chandler Riggs, Melissa McBride, Emily Kinney, Danai Gurira, Chad Coleman and Sonequa Martin-Green.
