AMC announced today that Melissa McBride will be returning as Carol Peletier in The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 2, which will now be titled The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol.
“I’ve known there was much more to be told of Carol’s story as I felt her so unsettled when we last saw her, as she watched her best friend, Daryl, ride away,” Melissa McBride said in a statement. “Apart or (hopefully!) together, their stories run deep, and I’m so excited to continue Carol’s journey here. This team of storytellers have done amazing work to land these two established characters in an entirely new world to them, and I’m loving the discoveries!“
Melissa McBride was originally set to star alongside Norman Reedus in The Walking Dead spinoff but wound up dropping out due to logistical issues. The series was revamped to focus entirely on Reedus’ character, but it was always to plan to get McBride back at some point. Production on the second season is currently underway in France and will premiere in 2024.
As Melissa McBride and Norman Reedus were a fan-favourite pairing throughout all eleven seasons of the original show, I’m sure fans will be quite pleased to see the two reunited for The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 2.
The series stars Norman Reedus as Daryl Dixon, who washes ashore in France and struggles to piece together how he got there and why. The series tracks his journey across a broken but resilient France as he hopes to find a way back home. As he makes the journey, though, the connections he forms along the way complicate his ultimate plan. The series also stars Clémence Poésy, Adam Nagaitis, Romain Levi, Louis Puech Scigliuzzi, Anne Charrier, Eriq Ebouaney, and Laika Blanc Francard.
The season finale of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon will air on October 15th. You can check out a review of the series from our own Alex Maidy right here.
