You know, I used to do a cool series of posts highlighting/recommending horror movies on Netflix. You may have been wondering why it's been so long since we've posted one here at AITH… and then you looked on Netflix yourself over the last few weeks (a full month) and realized that 'Hell, Netflix hasn't put out anything good for a month if not more.'
While that's not 100% fair to say, I think the flicks that have been added are either not worth recommending (duh) or they are so well known that there is no POINT in me recommending them to you. Anyhow, looks like Netflix is stepping up their game (slightly) in July with the addition of the John Carpenter/Lovecraft homage flick THE VOID!
Yes, the ultra-gory horror flick THE VOID will be hitting the streaming service on July 6th.
So tell your kids, tell your wives, tell everybody. Not only that, but on July 1st we will also be getting the zombie-drama HERE ALONE, the 1997 SPAWN flick, the vastly underrated Angelina Jolie/Ethan Hawke serial killer thriller TAKING LIVES, and season 3 of iZOMBIE if that's your thing…
And let's not forget that season one of the original animated Netflix series CASTLEVANIA, based on the video games, will be hitting July 7th. Which flick are you most excited to see hit the streaming service this July? Let us know on Facebook, Twitter, and/or Instagram!
THE VOID synopsis:
In the middle of a routine patrol, officer Daniel Carter happens upon a blood-soaked figure limping down a deserted stretch of road. He rushes the young man to a nearby rural hospital staffed by a skeleton crew, only to discover that patients and personnel are transforming into something inhuman. As the horror intensifies, Carter leads the other survivors on a hellish voyage into the subterranean depths of the hospital in a desperate bid to end the nightmare before it's too late.
THE VOID is written and directed by Jeremy Gillespie and Steven Kostanski, and starring Aaron Poole, Ellen Wong, Kathleen Munroe, Stephanie Belding, and Kenneth Welsh. The film is available on VOD and in select theaters RIGHT NOW and you can read Eric's review of the flick HERE.
