The Vision costume was like being inside a gin and tonic, says Paul Bettany

In addition to James Spader's Ultron, we can argue that the character who Marvel fans were most looking forward to seeing in AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON was the Vision (Paul Bettany). The marketing leading up the to the release of the film wisely kept his character mostly hidden from us, but now that the film has been out there for all to see, you're going to get more Vision than you ever wanted. Marvel released a brief featurette from AGE OF ULTRON's upcoming Blu-ray/DVD release which delves a little into what it took to bring this new hero to life.

While it seems that Paul Bettany received a few digital touch-ups to aid his android-like appearance, it's amazing to see just how purple his Vision make-up really was under regular lighting. Unlike other prosthetic heavy characters, Bettany's time in the make-up chair only lasted an hour and a half, plus his "robotic muscle suit" was even water-cooled, which led Paul Bettany to joke that “it’s a little like being inside a gin and tonic.” Not a bad life.

AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON will be released on Blu-ray/DVD on October 2, 2015.
