The Twilight Zone Season Four episodes-only DVD hits shelves this week!

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Image Entertainment will once again release an episodes-only set of “The Twilight Zone” this week (tomorrow, August 6th to be exact), this time it’s Season Four of the landmark sci-fi/fantasy series. Season Four was notable for being the only season where the episodes were an hour in length; the following year, the format went back to half-hour.

Among the stars of this season:
Robert Duvall, Dennis Hopper, Bill Bixby, Burgess Meredith, Burt Reynolds, Jack Klugman, Jack Weston, James Best, Ann Jillian, Anne Francis, James Whitmore and Martin Balsam.

The great thing about the episodes-only set is that it’s quite affordable: $20 on Amazon right now. Considering how much the sets with all the bells and whistles are, that’s an amazing bargain. And really, when it comes right down to it, the episodes are what truly matter.

Eighteen classic episodes include: In His Image, The Thirty Fathom Grave, Valley of the Shadow, He’s Alive, Mute, Death Ship, Jess-Belle, Miniature, Printer’s Devil, No Time Like the Past, The Parallel, I Dream of Genie, The New Exhibit, Of Late I Think of Cliffordville, The Incredible World of Horace Ford, On Thursday We Leave for Home, Passage on the Lady Anne and The Bard.

The highlights are (in this jerk’s opinion): “Death Ship” (concerning a crew of astronauts who are confronted by the corpses of themselves!), “The New Exhibit” (which focuses on some naughty wax figures), “On Thursday We Leave for Home” (about a colony of settlers stranded on a distant planet), and “Valley of the Shadow” (about a man who enters a very strange, technologically advanced small town).
