The Trolls’ world gets bigger and louder in trailer for Trolls World Tour

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

I'll admit to being more than surprised that TROLLS was not only a commercial success, but also a hit with critics as well. Not at all what I expected from an animated musical film based on a line of toy dolls. Well, Poppy (Anna Kendrick) and Branch (Justin Timberlake) are back at it again with TROLLS WORLD TOUR, a sequel which finds the Trolls discovering that they are but one of six different Troll tribes scattered across six different lands devoted to six different kinds of music: Funk, Country, Techno, Classical, Pop, and Rock.

When Queen Barb (Rachel Bloom), a member of hard-rock royalty, wants to destroy all other kinds of music with just Rock remaining supreme, Poppy, Branch, and their friends seek out the other Troll tribes in an attempt to unite the other lands against Queen Barb. In addition to Anna Kendrick, Justin Timberlake, and Rachel Bloom, TROLLS WORLD TOUR also features the voice talents of Ozzy Osbourne, Mary J. Blige, Kelly Clarkson, Sam Rockwell, James Corden, Ron Funches, Kunal Nayyar, Kenan Thompson, Jamie Dornan, and Charlyne Yi.

The official synopsis for TROLL WORLD TOUR:

Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake return in an all-star sequel to DreamWorks Animation’s 2016 musical hit: Trolls World Tour. In an adventure that will take them well beyond what they’ve known before, Poppy (Kendrick) and Branch (Timberlake) discover that they are but one of six different Troll tribes scattered over six different lands and devoted to six different kinds of music: Funk, Country, Techno, Classical, Pop and Rock. Their world is about to get a lot bigger and a whole lot louder.

A member of hard-rock royalty, Queen Barb (Rachel Bloom), aided by her father King Thrash (Ozzy Osbourne), wants to destroy all other kinds of music to let rock reign supreme. With the fate of the world at stake, Poppy and Branch, along with their friends — Biggie (James Corden), Chenille (Caroline Hjelt), Satin (Aino Jawo), Cooper (Ron Funches) and Guy Diamond (Kunal Nayyar) — set out to visit all the other lands to unify the Trolls in harmony against Barb, who’s looking to upstage them all.

TROLL WORLD TOUR is set for an April 17, 2020 release.
