More than a few tidbits regarding the Star Trek franchise were revealed during its virtual Comic-Con panel last week, but one thing which wasn't revealed was when the third season of Star Trek: Discovery would debut. Well, the Trekkies among you will be pleased to know that CBS All Access have announced that Star Trek: Discovery's third season will launch on the streaming service on October 15, 2020. Mark your calendars!

The second season finale found Commander Michael Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green) flung far into the future, followed closely by the U.S.S. Discovery and her crew. The third season will pick with the crew "landing into an unknown future far from the home they once knew. Now living in a time filled with uncertainty, the U.S.S. Discovery crew, along with the help of some new friends, must work together to restore hope to the Federation." Along with Sonequa Martin-Green as Burnham, the cast of the third season of Star Trek: Discovery includes Doug Jones as Commander Sara, Anthony Rapp as Lt. Commander Paul Stamets, Mary Wiseman as Ensign Sylvia Tilly, Wilson Cruz as Dr. Hugh Culber, David Ajala as Cleveland "Book" Booker, and Michelle Yeoh as Philippa Georgiou. Once the thirteen-episode season kicks off, it will air uninterrupted through to its finale early next year.

In addition to the third season of Star Trek: Discovery, there's plenty more Star Trek to look forward to, including the first season of Star Trek: Lower Decks, an animated comedy series from Rick & Morty's Mike McMahan which will premiere on August 6, 2020. There's also Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, a spin-off series featuring Anson Mount as Captain Christopher Pike, Rebecca Romijn as Number One, and Ethan Peck as Spock; a Section 31 series starring Michelle Yeoh; Star Trek: Prodigy, a CG-animated series aimed at younger audiences; and a second season of Star Trek: Picard. Our Star Trek cup runneth over.
