The Texas Chainsaw Massacre video game coming from Gun Interactive!

Some amazing news came out of the Game Awards last night, as it has been announced that Gun Interactive, the creators of Friday the 13th: The Game, are teaming up with Sumo Nottingham to bring us a video game based on The Texas Chainsaw Massacre! A trailer for the game can be seen above.

Gun and Sumo’s The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is “an asymmetrical multiplayer horror experience for PC and ninth generation gaming consoles”.

Gun’s Ronnie Hobbs had this to say about the project:

It’s no secret that the original The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is probably my favorite horror film ever created. Having the chance to really dive into the world of this IP with the team from Gun and working with Sumo to bring this vision to life has been almost surreal. I can’t wait for everyone to see more of what we’re doing.”

Sumo’s Darren Campion added:

We’re incredibly excited to finally reveal what we’ve been working on here at Sumo Nottingham. To be the first to truly bring the world of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre to life was an opportunity that could not be passed. The cult classic has been terrifying and spellbinding people for over 40 years and we’re thrilled with how the game is developing, we cannot wait for fans old and new to become part of this truly authentic experience.”

Fans can follow TXChainSawGame on Reddit, Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook for news and to interact with the community.

I am hyped to hear that we’re getting a Texas Chainsaw Massacre video game from Gun Interactive, as I love Friday the 13th: The Game and still play it regularly to this day, even though the copyright lawsuit between Friday the 13th director/producer Sean S. Cunningham and screenwriter Victor Miller held it back from being all it could be. Gun’s approach to F13 was perfect, so I look forward to seeing what they do with TCM.
