At this year’s Sundance Film Festival, a little movie called THE TALE won over the crowds and was hailed as an absolute triumph. The movie is an autobiographical tale from writer/director Jennifer Fox that tells her own true-life story of recalling sexual abuse she experienced as a child. Laura Dern plays Fox in the film, and the new trailer for the movie showcases her powerful performance in what looks to be an equally powerful film about how memory can be affected by the manipulation of abusers.

The movie received tons of awards buzz coming out of Sundance, but those Oscar chances were skirted when the film was picked up by HBO. The movie will surely get some Emmy and Golden Globe love, as this is already one of the most talked about indie movies around right now. With the availability of HBO NOW everyone has the opportunity to see it when it arrives on May 26.
