When Walt Disney Studios launches their exclusive Disney+ streaming service on November 12th, the highly-anticipated platform is poised to welcome one of the most iconic families in television history, The Simpsons. Thanks to the 21st Century Fox and Disney merger earlier this year, all 30 seasons of Fox's venerated animated sitcom will be available to stream on day one.
To celebrate this momentous occasion, Disney has unveiled a chuckle-worthy promotional teaser, which has all five members of the Simpsons family dressing like iconic characters from Marvel's Cinematic Universe, Toy Story, and Star Wars.
Now, everybody smile. @TheSimpsons are coming to #DisneyPlus. Start streaming November 12. pic.twitter.com/M8zTYmELb7

The teaser begins with Bart entering from the left side of the promo, and dressed as Disney's beloved mascot, Mickey Mouse. Less than enthused by the idea of shilling for the House of Mouse, Bart voices his discontent before being silenced by his father, Homer. After the Simpsons patriarch lays down the law, he calls for everyone to smile. Then, just before the camera captures the scene, Bart pulls down his shorts to reveal his bright, yellow butt. It's a classic move on Bart's behalf, and one that is then strategically covered up by the Disney+ logo.
While we've already noted Bart's Mickey Mouse costume, it would be remiss of me not to mention the other four members of the Simpsons family. In the promo, we find Marge dressed like Bo Peep of Pixar's TOY STORY franchise; Homer clad in an Iron Man outfit; Maggie made to look like Yoda of the Star Wars series; and Lisa representing National Geographic as an iceberg set adrift.
Created by Matt Groening (FUTURAMA, DISENCHANTMENT), THE SIMPSONS launched their animated legacy on Fox in December of 1989. Truth be told, I still remember watching the pilot episode, "Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire," with my family on that fateful night. I've remained a fan of the show ever since, even if I stopped watching the show at about its fourteenth season or so. That being said, I totally plan on taking full advantage of THE SIMPSONS catalog on Disney+ the moment the service goes live … Well, in between episodes of THE MANDALORIAN, of course.
