The Simpsons in Plusaversary short film announced in honor of Disney+ milestone

Gawrsh! Is it time to honor the anniversary of Disney+ already? Where does the time go?

The upcoming Disney+ Day celebration is headed to Springfield in The Simpsons in Plusaversary! In the new short, The Simpsons host a Disney+ Day party, and everyone is on the list… except Homer. With friends from across the service and music fit for a Disney princess, Plusaversary is Springfield’s event of the year. A Disney+ Day premiere, The Simpsons in Plusaversary will debut Friday, November 12 exclusively on the streaming service. The global celebration of Disney+ Day will come to life in 10 days with new content releases, fan experiences, exclusive offers, and more across The Walt Disney Company on Friday, November 12.

The Simpsons in Plusaversary is the third in a series of Disney+ shorts from The Simpsons that highlight the service’s marquee brands and titles. The previously released Star Wars and Marvel-themed shorts “Maggie Simpson in ‘The Force Awakens from Its Nap’” and “The Good, The Bart, and The Loki” are currently available on Disney+.

I hope Moe has enough space in his tavern to host all the classic characters that are sure to visit his dank watering hole. Perhaps Apu should order more heat lamp dogs for the Kwik-E-Mart before the festivities begin? Although, now that I think about it, Mayor Quimby will likely hold the gathering at the center of Springfield Square in an attempt to capitalize on the event. Who among the Disney elite do you think will show up for this special Plusaversary? What do you think Homer and Goofy are talking about in the image posted below? Is that sparkling water Goofy is drinking or a gin fizz to wash down all the peanuts he’s eaten? He looks pretty blasted, doesn’t he?

It will be interesting to see how The Simpsons in Plusaversary manages to celebrate content across the Disney+ spectrum, especially with Springfield as its venue of choice. This strikes me as an ambitious crossover and one that I might have to check out as a long-time fan of both Disney and The Simpsons. Will you be attending this year’s party? Who do you hope to see mingling among the rabble of Springfield? Let us know who you want to see on the guest list in the comments section below.
