The Shelter with Michael Pare Frightfest screening date/time & first review!

It was revealed last week that one of the films set to be shown at this year's Film4 Frightfest is THE SHELTER, which was written, directed and produced by our own John "The Arrow" Fallon, and now we know the exact date and time when the festival's attendees will be able to check the movie out:

THE SHELTER screening will be happening at 8:40pm on Friday, August 28th. The festival's official listing of the film can be seen HERE. Film4 Frightfest is being held in London from August 27th through the 31st, and tickets are available at the Frightfest website if you'd like to go to the festival yourself (and see THE SHELTER while you're there.)

The first review of THE SHELTER has also hit the net  over at Aint It Cool News having some very positive things to say about the film ("The exact opposite of the feel good movie of the year, but it does make for a pretty fantastic character study.") and the performance delivered by star Michael Paré ("Pare really gives it his all here, plunging to emotional depths I never thought he was able to do").

These are really exciting times here at Arrow in the Head, it's awesome to see our founder getting his directorial debut out into the world, and I'm looking forward to hearing the audience reactions that come out of its Frightfest screening. Let's all raise a glass to The Arrow and wish him luck! The trailer for THE SHELTER can be seen below. The film's synopsis:

On a star filled night, widower and homeless man Thomas (Michael Paré) finds shelter for the night when he falls upon a vast two story house with the lights on and an inviting open front door. He strolls on in thinking he just caught a lucky break and for a while, it would appear as though he did. Inside, with nobody in sight, he finds all of the comforts that he used to have. After taking a bath, feasting wholeheartedly on some food and relishing the silliness on the tube, he gets some well-earned shut eye. All is well until a restless Thomas wakes up in a panic and finds a loaded revolver resting on his lap. Baffled, he picks up the weapon, checks the barrel and notes that it is fully loaded. A visceral sense of unease invades him immediately. Something is very wrong and he decides that it is time to leave. Alas he finds out swiftly that the premises won’t let him depart so quickly. The doors are all locked, and the windows puzzlingly cannot be opened or broken. Destiny has brought Thomas to this place. Will he survive the ordeal?

THE SHELTER is represented by DC MEDIAS (contact them here). The film was executive produced by Bruise Productions and JoBlo Movie Productions. Production and post production elements were completed by Holbrook Multi Media.  The film was produced by Donny Broussard and John Fallon.
