The return of Hansel and other Zoolander 2 details from screenwriter Justin Theroux

“Hansel…so hot right now.”

According to screenwriter Justin Theroux, Owen Wilson will be back as the embodiment of “handsomness”, Hansel. Not Gretel.

Of course Mugatu will also be back, as well as a new character played by Jonah Hill. Threoux said this, “Fingers crossed, anything is possible in Hollywood, but I think you’re going to see Mugatu. We are planning on seeing Mugatu. There are a couple new villains that step onto the stage, which we are all very happy about. And yes, Jonah is the inspiration for one of them.”

The plot will begin with Derek and Hansel being depressed about not being the hottest thing in the modeling game. Theroux added, “We start off with them in a pretty bad place. They’re about to ring 40’s bell. They have to claw their way back into the fashion industry in some way or another.” That was all he had to say on the details, but he threw in one last thing on the topic, “It’s too funny — it’ll blow your mind.”

According to Theroux, the script is in good shape and is hoping to turn it in soon.
