Everyone wants their retirement plan to go smoothly, right? But what happens when your retreat to the Cayman Islands is interrupted by an unruly mob boss? Nicolas Cage (Willy's Wonderland, Mandy) is about to find out because he just signed on to star in The Retirement Plan. Joining Cage for the upcoming action film directed and written by Tim J. Brown is a spoil of stars including Ron Perlman (Hellboy, Sons of Anarchy), Ashley Green (Twilight), Jackie Earle Haley (WatchmenA Nightmare on Elm Street), Joel David Moore (Avatar), and Grace Byers (Empire). Also set to star are Ernie Hudson (The CrowGhostbusters), Rick Fox (Shameless), Lynn Whitfield (Madea's Family Reunion), and 11-year-old newcomer Thalia Campbell.

In The Retirement Plan, when Ashley (Ashley Greene) and her young daughter Sarah (Thalia Campbell) get caught up in a criminal enterprise that puts their lives at risk, she turns to the only person who can help – her estranged father Matt (Nicolas Cage), currently living the life of a retired beach bum in the Cayman Islands. Their reunion is fleeting as they are soon tracked down on the island by crime boss Donnie (Jackie Earle Haley) and his lieutenant Bobo (Ron Perlman). As Ashley, Sarah and Matt become entangled in an increasingly dangerous web, Ashley quickly learns her father had a secret past that she knew nothing about and that there is more to her father than meets the eye.

Producers for The Retirement Plan include William G. Santor, CEO of Productivity Media, and Nicholas Tabarrok, President of Darius Films. In addition, Jason Jallet (Blue Iguana) and Doug Murray also produce. John Hills and Andrew Chang-Sang will serve as executive producers.

“The global reach and legendary appeal of Nicolas, Ashley, Jackie, Joel, Grace, Ernie, Rick, and Lynn as well as gifted newcomer Thalia, is spot-on for this exciting action movie," says Producer William G. Santor, CEO of Productivity Media "I am proud to say that we have managed to have a Ghost Rider, a Hellboy, and a Rorschach in the same film together, with a Ghostbuster to keep the Ghost Rider in check! You can’t get better than that!!! And we continue to receive incredible support from the Cayman Islands Government as we start production on our third film.”

“Having now successfully completed production on two films here in the Caymans, I’m excited and thrilled to start on the third under our three-picture deal," Tabarrok added. "Tim’s script and the appeal of working in a beautiful COVID-free paradise has attracted a phenomenal cast who I can’t wait to see bring this action-packed story to life.”

For those of you who might be unfamiliar with Tim J. Brown, he directed 2007's The Cradle, a horror film starring Lukas Hass and Emily Hampshire. It tells the story of what happens when Frank and Julie move to a small isolated town with their son Sam, and both Julie and Sam become ill. Driven by terrifying nightmares of torture that come true Frank begs a local midwife Helen to care for Sam as he desperately searches for a way to stop this curse on his family. When he discovers they are being tortured by the vengeful spirit of a child that was buried alive years earlier, Frank is pushed to the brink of madness as he tries to stop the ghost and save his dying family.

Most recently, Brown finished helming Buckley's Chance, an upcoming family film starring Bill Nighy, Victoria Hill, and Martin Sacks. It takes place in Western Australia outback and focuses on a man's journey to return home while confronting the loss of his father. It's scheduled for release on June 24, 2021.
