Gareth Evans, director of THE RAID, THE RAID 2, and the upcoming APOSTLE (as well as a potential DEATHSTROKE spin-off), now has a TV show on the way. It’s called GANGS OF LONDON, and will be launching on Showtime. Here’s the synopsis, according to Deadline:
The drama…is set in contemporary London as it is becoming torn apart by power struggles involving a number of international gangs. The series begins as the head of one criminal gang is assassinated and the power vacuum threatens the fragile peace between the other underworld organisations.
Okay, not going to lie, that synopsis doesn’t grab me, but I’ll watch anything that Evans is attached to. It could be a big-budget take on FRED, and I’d at least give it a shot (if only because he might get kicked in the face awesomely). The man knows action better than most, and even his missteps are interesting and fascinating to watch. Consider me intrigued.
Meanwhile GANGS OF LONDON will launch on Showtime 2019.
