For those who enjoyed THE RAID from GARETH EVANS, it will please you to know that production on the sequel began this week.
Evans is back helming along with Iko Uwais who reprises his role as, “a police officer with a terrific set of fighting skills. The sequel picks up right where the first film ends and follows the office as he goes undercover and infiltrates the ranks of a ruthless Jakarta crime syndicate in order to protect his family and uncover the corruption in his own police force.”
The Indonesian title will be THE RAID 2: BERANDAL. The film is expected to shoot for 100 days.
The first film definitely grabbed a ton of attention from moviegoers, and certainly around here at JoBlo.com. Evans had this to say to those who became fans of the first installment, “To all our fans thank you so much for your support. We can’t wait to come back and show you what we have been working on. We’ll be there in 2014 with a film bigger, better and bloodier!”
Two new photos from the production were released as well. You can check those out below.
Sony Pictures Classics will again handle the release of the film in the states.
