Bring it on, November!
Yes, it looks like Netflix's THE PUNISHER stand alone series – featuring THE WALKING DEAD's Jon Bernthal – now has a premiere date. We have already shared the series' poster (which you can see below) but now we have some info on when we can finally see Shane begin his quest to kill everyone in the Marvel universe.
This news comes to us from a tiny tidbit of info spilled during an interview THE PUNISHER director Dearbhla Walsh had with THR. The interview was about the phenomenal third season of FARGO but she let slip the premiere date for the PUNISHER series at one point.
Dearbhla Walsh on THE PUNISHER:
One other time that hasn't been aired yet, which was an episode for the new Marvel series The Punisher, which I did just before Christmas, but it's not airing until November. I directed that in New York and edited in L.A., but this was my first directing experience in lovely Canada.
SPECIAL NOTE: If you haven't seen FARGO season three yet or aren't up to date, do NOT read the interview this info was pulled from. Fair warning.
I don't know about you but I'm excited as hell for the stand alone PUNISHER series. I dug the hell out of Bernthal's turn as Frank Castle during DAREDEVIL season 2, and I'm just glad I won't have to fast-forward through any blind fight scenes to get my Punisher fix this year.
All of this said, I feel I need to point out that while Walsh is in the know when it comes to THE PUNISHER, her words are by no means anything official.
All the same, get ready for more PUNISHER (hopefully) this November!
Deborah Ann Woll is set to co-star in The Punisher series.
