Before getting the party started at the 20th Century Fox panel at CinemaCon 2018, the studio has released the first plot synopsis for Shane Black's THE PREDATOR.
“From the outer reaches of space to the small-town streets of suburbia, the hunt comes home in Shane Black’s explosive reinvention of the Predator series. Now, the universe’s most lethal hunters are stronger, smarter and deadlier than ever before, having genetically upgraded themselves with DNA from other species. When a young boy accidentally triggers their return to Earth, only a ragtag crew of ex-soldiers and a disgruntled science teacher can prevent the end of the human race.”
As mentioned above, it's been revealed that the 'young man' will be played by Jacob Tremblay (ROOM), who is set to be joined by Boyd Holbrook (GONE GIRL, THE HOST), Olivia Munn (OFFICE CHRISTMAS PARTY), Trevante Rhodes (MOONLIGHT, WESTWORLD), Keegan-Michael Key (KEANU, FRIENDS FROM COLLEGE), Thomas Jane (THE PUNISHER, THE MIST), Yvonne Strahovski (CHUCK), Alfie Allen (GAME OF THRONES), Sterling K. Brown (THIS IS US, ARMY WIVES), and Edward James Olmos (COCO, BLADE RUNNER) for Black's sci-fi action film.
Not content to simply remain behind the camera, Black will also pen the script for THE PREDATOR with Fred Dekker, who together wrote the timeless 1987 horror classic MONSTER SQUAD (which Dekker also directed). When THE PREDATOR stalks into theaters on September 14th, the movie will serve as a follow-up to the events of the first two films in the series.
