The Oscar winners!!

We’ll be posting the
full list of everyone’s scores in our OSCAR PREDICTION CONTEST later
today or Tuesday at the latest, but this year’s scores were a LOT
higher than in previous years with the person in 1st place scoring 95/100
and the person in 2nd place scoring 93/100. In fact, even our own
internal JoBlo.com staff prediction contest featured two people with
scores over 90! Wow. I only scored 62/100 myself.

In terms of the Oscars
themselves, SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE dominated with 8 wins including BEST
PICTURE and BEST DIRECTOR, while THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON
continued its trend of receiving a lot of nominations, but very few
wins during this past award season (it was nominated for 13 Oscars,
but only won 3 technical ones). DOUBT & FROST/NIXON also had 5
noms each, but won a total of zero. The biggest surprise for me (and
everyone else, I think) was Sean Penn’s win over Mickey Rourke,
although kudos to Penn for propping Rourke at the end of his speech.
And my personal favorite moment of the night was Ben Stiller’s
Joaquin Phoenix impression. Classic shit!
