Director Edgar Wright along with his partners in crime Simon Pegg and Nick Frost have gained a loyal fan base that started with the television show Spaced and exploded with their film SHAUN OF THE DEAD, the first part of their "Three Flavours Cornetto Trilogy." But where did the concept originally come from?
IGN has a wonderful featurette on their next film THE WORLD'S END and while there is some new footage the best parts really are just listening to Wright, Pegg and Frost talking about the upcoming movie as well as their previous films in the trilogy. Wright also talks about how THE WORLD'S END will continue but also resolve themes that appear in the other films. If you're a big fan of these guys and their films then you'll really enjoy this featurette. On that note I'll leave you with this appropriate quote from Nick Frost about THE WORLD'S END from the video:
"It didn't feel any different to HOT FUZZ and SHAUN OF THE DEAD in terms of we are making a film that will make each other laugh and the millions of people around the world who are like us and share our comedy sensibilities."
How's that for a slice of fried gold? THE WORLD'S END directed by Edgar Wright and starring Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Martin Freeman, Paddy Considine, Rosamund Pike and Mark Heap (Hello Brian!) is in theaters August 23rd, 2013.
