Well, the EVIL DEAD remake red-band teaser is here and it’s…the same as the one that premiered at NYCC. That’s not a bad thing, it’s simply the same thing, just in much better quality. I still kind of dig the bootleg version, just for the throwback nostalgia feel, but it’s cool to see the images with a little more clarity as well. The love/hate for this remake is comparable to the Obama/Romney split. There isn’t much of a grey area on this one.

I’m on team EVIL DEAD remake with this one. I’m always apprehensive when it comes to remakes, but this looks really cool to me. I love the camp and hyper-style of Raimi’s original films and they’ll always have a special place in my heart, but there’s room for a straight scary version for me. I’ll definitely give this a go.
EVIL DEAD, starring Jane Levy and Shiloh Fernandez is slated for possessions and tree rape on April 13, 2013.
