For all you New York City horror lovers and everyone for that matter, there’s an event this month that I strongly recommend you attend. This ghostly event I speak of is The New York City Horror Film Festival.
This festival isn’t like your run of the mill festival where it becomes a recycled event year after year. No, the New York City Horror Film Festival is for us and by us. The big guns that run the festival are fans like we all are and want to display a showcase of films that treats horror lovers world wide to a terrifying taste of what is being produced out there, whether it be independent, studio, debuts and much more.
This year’s line-up has a great range of blood and gore, featuring such feature films as: ALONE, SEED, THE GIRL NEXT DOOR, DEATH OF A GHOST HUNTER, and many other features and shorts that will scare you to death. The festival will also have special screenings of films we love, like a new cut of HOSTEL, featuring a brand new, never before seen ending. Also, the festival, in association with New Fear City and The Village Voice, will debut David Slade’s 30 DAYS OF NIGHT ending with a live Q&A with Steven Niles, at Midnight on October 12th. The New York City Horror Film Festival starts October 24th and goes through until October 28th, being held at the Cantor Film Center, located at 36 East 8th Street, between University and Greene.
