The Nun 2 scores Hell Fest screenwriter

Director Corin Hardy's THE NUN starring Taissa Farmiga, Demian Bichir, Jonas Bloquet, and Bonnie Aarons was a ton of spooky fun and so I guess it makes sense then that THE NUN 2 seems to be the next movie set to be written within The Conjuring Universe (which we told you about recently right HERE). And today we have word that Akela Cooper has been tapped to write the script for the flick.

Cooper is a name you may know by this point in time from her work within our genre on projects such as HELL FEST and AMERICAN HORROR STORY. Cooper has also lent her pen to such projects as the Netflix Marvel series LUKE CAGE and James Wan's upcoming A.I. doll thriller ME3AN.

Gary Dauberman wrote the original film which began:

When a young nun at a cloistered abbey in Romania takes her own life, a priest with a haunted past and a novitiate on the threshold of her final vows are sent by the Vatican to investigate. Together, they uncover the order's unholy secret. Risking not only their lives but their faith and their very souls, they confront a malevolent force in the form of a demonic nun.

THE NUN is directed by Corin Hardy (THE HALLOWS) from a screenplay written by James Wan and Gary Dauberman (ANNABELLE, IT). Wan produced the film along with Peter Safran and the movie features Demián Bichir as Father Burke, Taissa Farmiga as Sister Irene, Jonas Bloquet as Maurice "Frenchie" Theriault, and Bonnie Aarons as Valak / The Nun.
