The Ritual director David Bruckner’s new horror film The Night House is now available to watch on Amazon Prime (watch it HERE) or to buy on DVD and Blu-ray – but if you’re not sure whether or not you want to see this movie yet, maybe watching the first 7 minutes of it will help you decide. That’s the clip we have in the embed above, so you can watch those 7 minutes of The Night House right now.
Scripted by Ben Collins and Luke Piotrowski (Super Dark Times), the film sees Rebecca Hall (Godzilla vs. Kong) taking on the role of a widow named Beth who is “reeling from shock over her husband’s sudden death in the pair’s lakeside home.”
After a series of disturbing dreams become increasingly real, Beth unearths a ghostly presence in her home that vanishes during the day. An ongoing investigation through the house (and their marriage) turns up strange secrets and a mystery she must solve.
The cast also includes Sarah Goldberg (Barry), Stacy Martin (All the Money in the World), Evan Jonigkeit (X-Men: Days of Future Past), and Vondie Curtis-Hall (Chicago Hope). The Night House was produced by David S. Goyer, Keith Levine, and John Zois.
Our own Chris Bumbray gave The Night House a 6/10 review after seeing the film as part of the Sundance Film Festival, and you can read his review at THIS LINK.
This movie might be a special interest to fans of the Hellraiser franchise, as Bruckner, the writers, and producer Goyer went right from making The Night House to collaborating on a Hellraiser reboot that will be released through the Hulu streaming service. I’m wanting to check it out because I was a big fan of the movie Super Dark Times; you can read my review of that one HERE.
