FRANKENWEENIE seems to be a return to form for Tim Burton. Revisiting one of his old projects and turning it into something new might have done him a bit of good. A story like FRANKENWEENIE, plus the stop motion animation, then add some of Burton’s old favorites to do the voices, and you have a win.
I’ve been a long time fan of Burton’s cooky tales. Everything he brought to the screen had a special kind of magic. As of late, it’s been getting harder for him to reclaim that. God knows he’s trying, especially if you look at something like DARK SHADOWS. I really hope FRANKENWEENIE hits it out of the park for him.
The latest trailer for the film was already viewed during the panel for FRANKENWEENIE at Comic-Con. As I said before, it has all of the best elements you could ask for from Burton. Watching it invoked a nostalgia that took me back to being a kid in the 90s. Take a look below for yourself.
