The first GHOSTBUSTERS trailer has come and gone in a wave of predictable controversy, but here's the aftershock: An international trailer with even more footage has been released. While some of the jokes in the original trailer ring a little hollow to me, the material here seems a bit fresher. Plus, if there's anything I learned from the trailers to SPY, it's that Paul Feig's movies tend to be woefully underserved by the marketing material.
This trailer offers an extended peek into Chris Hemsworth's role in the movie, which I'm sure will be a huge talking point come summer. Check out the trailer below!
In GHOSTBUSTERS:
Dead criminals from all eras of New York’s underbelly past have returned to roost among the living. Pilgrims, old-timey sailors, Revolutionary War spirits, and even a couple of zoot-suited gangsters are ready to take on four formidable female busters looking to rid the city of its phantasmic filth.
Written by Feig and Katie Dippold, this new take on the GHOSTBUSTERS stars Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones as the ghost busting team, along with Chris Hemsworth, Neil Casey, Andy Garcia, Michael K. Williams, Matt Walsh, Pat Kiernan, Cecily Strong, and Charles Dance. There are cameos by original GHOSTBUSTERS stars Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver, and Annie Potts, as well as Ozzy Osbourne.
GHOSTBUSTERS is set to bust into theaters on July 15th.
