The new animated trailer for Looper almost makes you wish the whole movie was a cartoon

LOOPER already looks like it is going to kick all sorts of ass and this unique new trailer just takes that excitement up another notch.

This new animated trailer for the Rian Johnson film was illustrated by Noah Fisher and Zachary Johnson. Mixing media as well as styles, the trailer jumps back and forth through footage we have seen in clips and live action trailers to create a unique vision of the time travel thriller.

Plot: In the futuristic action thriller Looper, time travel will be invented – but it will be illegal and only available on the black market. When the mob wants to get rid of someone, they will send their target 30 years into the past, where a “looper” – a hired gun, like Joe (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) – is waiting to mop up. Joe is getting rich and life is good… until the day the mob decides to “close the loop,” sending back Joe’s future self (Bruce Willis) for assassination.

As a fan of unconventional film, I almost wish that there was a fully animated LOOPER movie based on this. Who knows, maybe if the movie is a hit we will get an animated sequel.

LOOPER opens this Friday, September 28th.
