Writer/director Justin Lee’s new adaptation of Richard Connell’s 1924 short story The Most Dangerous Game caught our attention a while back with the cool cast Lee has assembled for the film, including Tom Berenger (Platoon), Chris ‘CT’ Tamburello (MTV’s The Challenge), Elissa Dowling (Girl on the Third Floor), Kevin Porter (Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story), Edward Finlay (Justin Lee’s Final Kill), Randy Charach (Zombie Tidal Wave), Bruce Dern (The Hateful Eight), Judd Nelson (The Breakfast Club), and Casper Van Dien (Starship Troopers). The Most Dangerous Game is now heading to the Berlin International Film Festival, and in anticipation of the event we here at Arrow in the Head are proud to share the EXCLUSIVE first look at the film’s poster / cover art! You can check it out at the bottom of this article.
This version of The Most Dangerous Game begins when
father and son are washed ashore after their steamership explodes. The men find refuge on a mysterious island where their nefarious host, Baron Von Wolf, reveals to them that the island is his game preserve where human beings serve as the ultimate hunt.
Berenger’s character is “a man who has been hiding on the island but whose sanity is on the verge of collapse”. It hasn’t been revealed exactly who the other cast members are playing, but the poster implies that Tamburello is being hunted and Van Dien is leading the hunt.
The Most Dangerous Game is being produced by Koenig Pictures, along with Quiet On Set, Charach Productions, and Greenfield Media. Ed Morrone and Michelle Ng receive producer credits, while Bill Sondheim and Randy Charach serve as executive producers. Mill Creek Entertainment is also on board for their first-ever co-production of a scripted feature film.
In addition to co-producing, Mill Creek Entertainment will be handling the North American release of the film on all formats – theatrical, broadcast, digital, and physical media. They’re aiming for a summer 2022 release.
