Apple TV+ is adding another one of Hollywood’s heavy-hitters to the cast of The Morning Show Season 3. Coming to add more drama to the UBA is Mad Men star Jon Hamm, who recently appeared alongside Tom Cruise in Paramount’s Top Gun: Maverick. Hamm joins an already stellar cast that includes Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, and Billy Crudup. The Morning Show Season 3 begins production in late August, with Charlotte Stoudt showrunning.

The Morning Show is one of Apple TV+‘s most significant hits after scoring several Emmy nominations, including nods for Witherspoon for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, Crudup for Oustanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series, and Marcia Gay Harden for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series. If Crudup wins the prize, it will be his second time winning the award for the same category.

The Morning Show provides an inside look at the lives of the people who help America wake up in the morning, exploring the unique challenges faced by the men and women who carry out this daily television ritual. Not afraid to tap into harsh subject matter, The Morning Show killed off Steve Carrell’s Mitch Kessler in its second season. Kessler was outed as a habitual sexual abuser in the first season. After spending a portion of Season 2 in Italy reflecting on his actions, Kessler died in a car accident. Other drama fueled the season, including Wither spoon’s Bradley becoming romantically involved with a woman (Julianna Margulies’ Laura Peterson), and Aniston’s Alex contracting Covid-19.

The Morning Show Season 3 promises to deliver more twists and turns. Especially now that Hamm is joining the cast.
