The Mitchells vs. The Machines, formerly known as Connected, was originally slated to hit theaters over a year ago, but COVID-19 delayed the animated film and the distribution rights were later picked up by Netflix for somewhere over $110 million. Well, Netflix has finally revealed when we'll get to check out the film as they've announced that it will debut on the streaming service on April 30th.
Produced by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, The Mitchells vs. The Machines was written and directed by Mike Rianda and Jeff Rowe and is about an "everyday family’s struggle to relate with each other while technology rises up around the world. The film centers on Katie (Abbi Jacobson), a creative type who gets accepted into her dream film school. Before she begins college, her dad (Danny McBride) decides that driving her to school is the perfect opportunity to bond as a family one last time. But as they unplug and hit the road, technology threatens their trip — and the Earth."
The Mitchells vs. The Machines will debut on Netflix on April 30, 2021.
