The Midnight Club: Mike Flanagan lists directors, including Axelle Carolyn

Mike Flanagan directed every episode of his first Netflix series, The Haunting of Hill House, but decided to share the directorial duties on The Haunting of Bly Manor with a handful of other directors, and he's doing the same with his upcoming series The Midnight Club, based on the 1994 novel by Christopher Pike (buy it HERE). Flanagan took to his Twitter account to reveal that the other directors working on The Midnight Club are Emmanuel Osei-Kuffour (Black Box), Axelle Carolyn (The Haunting of Bly Manor, Shudder's Creepshow), Viet Nguyen (Crush the Skull), Morgan Beggs (Smallville, Once Upon a Time), and Michael Fimognari, who has been the cinematographer on most of Flanagan's projects.

Christopher Pike's novel takes place

at Rotterdam Home, a hospice for terminally ill teenagers. A group of patients begin to gather together at midnight to share scary stories. They eventually make a pact that whichever of them dies first will contact the others from beyond the grave.

Flanagan has written the adaptation with Leah Fong, Elan Gale, James Flanagan, and Chinaka Hodge. Flanagan and Fong are also executive producing the show with Trevor Macy and Julia Bicknell.

The Midnight Club stars Adia, Igby Rigney, Ruth Codd, William Chris Sumpter, Aya Furukawa, Annarah Shephard, and Sauriyan Sapkota as the terminally ill teens. They're joined in the cast by Zach Gilford, Samantha Sloyan, and Matt Biedel, with Heather Langenkamp on board as a enigmatic doctor.

I'll watch anything Flanagan makes, and Carolyn's involvement boosts my anticipation for The Midnight Club even further. Aside from Fimognari, I'm not familiar with the work of the other directors, but I look forward to seeing what they do on this show.
