The MEN IN BLACK / 23 JUMP STREET crossover continues to insist that it's a real thing. Early reports of the film being pushed into production were strong, but they still could have fallen through. But with every step it seems like we're cementing in that this film is actually happening for whatever lunatic reason.
The newest evidence? A title. As revealed by Sony at the 2016 CinemaCon, the crossover flick will be called MIB 23. It's not the most creative name in the world, but it's a big commitment to an idea that only makes sense in the wake of all these expansive cinematic universes that Marvel, DC, and even Universal have been building with their superheroes and monsters alike. When last we heard, THE MUPPETS director James Bobin was in talks to helm the project from a script by 22 JUMP STREET scribe Rodney Rothman, with Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill reprising their JUMP STREET roles. Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones will not be returning at this time. Although I'm sure Sony can find a way to sweeten the pot and entice one or both of them into at least a cameo.
