Pascal Laugier, the director of the notorious French extremist flick MARTYRS, hasn't directed a film since his 2012 Jessica Biel flick THE TALL MAN. Apparently continuing his trend of only directing a film every four years (his only credit before 2008's MARTYRS was HOUSE OF VOICES in 2004), this year he's set to helm INCIDENT IN A GHOST LAND from a script he also wrote.
The story follows:
a mother of two who inherits a home from her Aunt. On the first night in the new home she is confronted with murderous intruders and fights for her daughters’ lives.
When the girls suffer this terrible childhood trauma, their disparate personalities diverge even further. One is said to become a famous horror author, with a perfect family and life in Los Angeles, while the other can’t cope, and loses her mind.
The movie takes place 16 years later when the daughters reunite at the house, and that’s when things get strange.
It's a pretty basic plot, but I have no doubt that Laugier can put his dark, twisted spin on things with ease.
Production is set to begin this summer on INCIDENT IN A GHOST LAND. More on this story as it breaks!
