The Mandalorian Season 3 featurette and art celebrate the anticipated return of Din Djarin and Grogu

The hype for The Mandalorian Season 3 is real, folks. To celebrate the one-month mark before the third season of the beloved Star Wars series, Disney+ is here to share new art and a featurette for the upcoming adventure in a galaxy far, far away. The Mandalorian Season 3 featurette opens on a crowd of cheering Star Wars fans, their fists and light sabers held high while chanting in unison. The footage then focuses on Executive Producer Kathleen Kennedy alongside Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni. After a montage of fan enthusiasm, elaborate Cosplay, and packed floors of Star Wars die-hards, Favreau gives thanks for the opportunity to create within the Star Wars universe.

Per today’s official press release for The Mandalorian Season 3 featurette:

The journeys of the Mandalorian through the Star Wars galaxy continue. Once a lone bounty hunter, Din Djarin has reunited with Grogu. Meanwhile, the New Republic struggles to lead the galaxy away from its dark history. The Mandalorian will cross paths with old allies and make new enemies as he and Grogu continue their journey together.

The series stars Pedro Pascal, Katee Sackhoff, Carl Weathers, Amy Sedaris, Emily Swallow, and Giancarlo Esposito. The directors of the eight-episode Season 3 include Rick Famuyiwa, Rachel Morrison, Lee Isaac Chung, Carl Weathers, Peter Ramsey, and Bryce Dallas Howard.

Jon Favreau is the showrunner/head writer and serves as an executive producer along with Dave Filoni, Rick Famuyiwa, Kathleen Kennedy, and Colin Wilson. Karen Gilchrist and Carrie Beck are co-executive producers.

Executive producer and director Rick Famuyiwa is also featured in the new video. While reflecting on the incredible journey of bringing The Mandalorian to life, he describes the series as “a mix of incredible talent. Everyone just bringin’ it, week after week.”

In addition to the new featurette, which highlights new scenes from the upcoming season, Disney+ unveiled fresh art for the series. In the image, Din Djarin and Grogu ready themselves for battle atop an armored ship. Din Djarin is armed with the Darksaber and his trusty blaster, while Grogu provides backup using his Force powers. It’s wicked, and you can see it for yourself below.
