The Mandalorian will be celebrating its new season with a network television debut simulcast

The Mandalorian Season 3 premieres in March, but fans who missed The Book of Boba Fett might be a bit confused where the story starts.

One of Disney+’s biggest hits right out of the gate is the Star Wars series, The Mandalorian. It was the big launch title when the streaming service made its debut back in November of 2019. This March will mark the return of the adventures of Din Djarin, along with his cuddly companion, Grogu. According to Collider, to celebrate the phenomenon of the Lucasfilm series, Disney+ has announced a special linear airing of the first episode of the first season.

The first episode is set to be simulcasted on Friday, February 24, at 8 p.m. EST across ABC, Freeform, and FX. Season three is a hugely anticipated return after the debut of the spin-off, The Book of Boba Fett, and the Star Wars extended universe shows that would also dawn the library of the streaming service, including Obi-Wan Kenobi and Andor.

Season three of The Mandalorian will take place after the events of The Book of Boba Fett and sees the reunion of Djarin and Grogu after the little guy had been off training with a one Luke Skywalker. The first episode of the series, which is set to air on TV, shows how the bounty hunter first came across the “baby Yoda” as he was tasked to retrieve mysterious cargo, only to be revealed in the end to be Grogu and it would simultaneously steal both Mando’s heart and the audience as Grogu became a little cultural phenomenon. Equally exciting was the reveal that Luke Skywalker would show up to train the youngling and guide him into his Jedi powers.

The Mandalorian stars Pedro Pascal, Katee Sackhoff, Carl Weathers, Amy Sedaris, Emily Swallow , and Giancarlo Esposito. The upcoming eight-episode season will feature Rick Famuyiwa, Rachel Morrison, Lee Isaac Chung, Carl Weathers, Peter Ramsey, and Bryce Dallas Howard as directors. Jon Favreau returns as showrunner and head writer. He also EPs along with Dave Filoni, Famuyiwa, Kathleen Kennedy and Colin Wilson. Karen Gilchrist and Carrie Beck serves as co-executive producers.

The network television debut of The Mandalorian premieres on Friday, February 24, at 8 p.m. EST on ABC, Freeform, and FX. Season 3 premieres on Disney+ on March 1.
