Established TV director Rob Schrab is about to build his resume in such an awesome way adding the sequel to THE LEGO MOVIE. He will join returning producers Dan Lin and Roy Lee as well as the original movies directing team Phil Lord and Chris Miller who wrote the sequel but decided to take the backseat with this one. Schrab is known for directing a lot of great TV including The Sarah Silverman Program, Children’s Hospital, and Community. The running theme being that he knows how to handle comedy and THE LEGO MOVIE is all about laughs, constant smart laughs.
We don’t have any plot details at this point, THE LEGO MOVIE sequel is eyeing a release for 2018, so we will be waiting a good long time before much of anything services. In the meantime, Warner Bros. is keeping us company with Ninjago due for a September 23, 2016 release while the Lego Batman movie is scheduled for May 2017.
Schrab also wrote the underrated gem MONSTER HOUSE in 2006, worth checking out.
