The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs season 4 began back on April 29th, and we still have two more Friday nights to spend with legendary movie host Joe Bob Briggs and Darcy the Mail Girl before they wrap things up for the season and look ahead to whatever’s next. The season finale is set to air on July 1st, but we have another big episode to enjoy before we get there: it has been announced that this Friday’s edition of The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs is going to feature two very special guests! This episode is being described as “the first annual Last Drive-In East/West Indie-Film Throwdown”, as the guests are filmmakers Charles Band (representing the West Coast) and Larry Fessenden (representing the East Coast). “Both men are bringing ultra-low-budget artillery.”
Darcy hinted that the Charles Band movie they’ll be showing and discussing has her “very favorite Jacqueline Lovell nude scene”. Lovell does have a famous nude scene in Hideous!, but maybe that’s not Darcy’s favorite. We’ll have to wait and see. The Larry Fessenden movie being shown is also a mystery, as Joe Bob likes to wait until the show has started before he announces which movies we’ll be seeing.
Here’s the information on The Last Drive-in with Joe Bob Briggs season 4:
Premieres Friday, April 29, New Episodes Every Friday (Shudder Original Series)
The hit series returns with Briggs, the world’s foremost drive-in movie critic, presenting eclectic horror movie double features, interrupting the films to expound upon their merits, histories, and significance to genre cinema. The season premiere will feature a celebration of The Last Drive-In’s 100th movie since Joe Bob’s first Shudder marathon in 2018, with surprise special guests. Shudder and Briggs first teamed up in July 2018, for the 24-hour marathon intended to be Briggs’ final farewell to televised movie hosting. Due to overwhelming popular demand, Shudder brought The Last Drive-In back as a weekly series and for multiple holiday specials.
The show is produced by Matt Manjourides and Justin Martell, and directed by Austin Jennings.
