The King’s Man was watched by 2.2 million U.S. households in first 4 days of streaming

The King’s Man may have stalled a bit at the box office when it was released back in December but it appears that it’s about to begin a pretty strong streaming showing, given stats obtained by Samba TV.

Per Samba TV, The King’s Man was watched by 2.2 million U.S. households in its first 4 days of streaming on Hulu and HBO Max. This was the kind of film that should’ve gone straight to streaming after suffering many delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic but a holiday release was attempted in December in a bid to boost potential box office but the end result didn’t completely work. Despite some decent holds weekend to weekend, The King’s Man box office start was too small to really generate much traction. To date, The King’s Man has grossed $37.1 million domestically and $125.2 million worldwide on a reported $100 million budget.

Per the film’s official synopsis, “As a collection of history’s worst tyrants and criminal masterminds gather to plot a war to wipe out millions, one man must race against time to stop them. Discover the origins of the very first independent intelligence agency in The King’s Man.” The film stars Ralph Fiennes, Gemma Arterton, Rhys Ifans, Matthew Goode, Tom Hollander, Matthew Goode, Harris Dickinson, Djimon Honsou, and Charles Dance.
