Exclusive clip for The King’s Man takes us into the mind of Matthew Vaughn

In support of the home entertainment release for The King’s Man, we’ve got an exclusive clip that takes us into the ming of director Matthew Vaughn. In the clip, Ralph Fiennes waxes rhapsodic about working alongside Vaughn for the bespoke prequel that explores the origin of the Kingsman.

“I genuinely like how Matthew has trusted me,” Fiennes says in the footage. “I warm up after a few takes. I get a bit looser between takes, a bit freer, I suppose. He sees that.”

Fiennes plays the primary protagonist in The King’s Man, Orlando Oxford, also known as The Duke of Oxford. He was the founder of the Kingsman independent intelligence agency. Oxford perished before the start of the first Kingsman film, but his legacy lives on in the many agents who join the secret group of spies and finely suited soldiers of justice.

“I think all actors like to be in the hands of a director who communicates clearly. He [Vaughn] does that,” Fiennes adds.

Also featured in the behind-the-scenes clip is Tom Hollander, who plays King George / Kaiser Wilhelm / Tsar Nicholas in the film. Hollander also expressed his appreciation for Vaughn’s ability to collaborate with his actors by saying, “He’s much more of a collaborator than I’d imagined. He’s very collaborative on the set. He’s very open to ideas and open to suggestions and changes. He’s a very talented, effective, and productive human being.”

The King’s Man home release info states that the explosive prequel arrives on Digital on February 18 and 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray and DVD on February 22. Additionally, you get all three Kingsman films together for the first time in The Kingsman Collection – which includes Kingsman: The Secret Service, Kingsman: The Golden Circle, and The King’s Man. The collection will be available digitally on February 18 and as a collectible SteelBook on February 22.

I’m not going to lie, I’ve been counting the days until The King’s Man gets a home entertainment release. I missed the film in theaters due to Covid and can’t wait to see how my favorite super-spy agency got started. I once traveled all the way to England for a Kingsman event, and it was some of the most fun I’ve ever had reporting on a film. Let’s grab an umbrella, slip into our swankiest finery, and get to work!
